Becoming An Accurate Strategic Thinker

The first priority of the CEO is to define reality and then to craft a strategy for pursuing a vision that goes beyond now or the past leveraging what is available to them now. You don’t have to wear all the hats in your business. And you can’t effectively do so.

You can find talent in these the areas of creativity and implementation. You can join forces with people and set up equity share arrangements, pay per-transaction, on deferred compensation, and a number of other working agreements that allow you to focus on your strength and to have other people using their strength to counter your weaknesses.
Most of the limitations that entrepreneurs blame for their problems are bullshit. They don’t exist. This means that it is important for you to look to make decisions on what’s possible based on facts or factual assumptions that are sourced from people who are at the higher level you want to be or people are in tune with what is possible and what can be possible. When you whine and commiserate with losers or watch the news or read the paper, they’ll all agree with you that you can’t find good talent, that all the good customers are taken, that globalization is killing the U.S. economy, blah, blah, blah. If you want to thrive in the midst of chaos you need to be seeking out the people who are succeeding in spite of being faced with challenges. People who find a way around challenges.]]>
